In A4, we are always on the go. Below is some information about how our classroom runs. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at [email protected].
BEHAVIOR MANAGEMENT
Behavior is extremely important in our room. Each student has classroom and school expecations to follow. Good behavior helps our classroom be an organized, safe learning enviornment. Our classroom runs on a "clip it" behavior chart.
The chart has 7 levels. Each student has a clothespin with their name on it, and they start each day on the middle level that says "Ready to Learn!" Throughout the day, the student can move up for good behavior, or down for negative behavior. If the student reaches the very top (pink), they will earn a gold star on their clothespin. Once they reach 5 gold stars, they can choose a prize from our prize box. If a student goes to the lowest level (red), they will recieve a note home. Each student can move up or down throughout the day, so even if they make a poor decision, there is an opportunity to move back up if the behavior changes.
STUDENT REWARDS
I love to reward students for good behavior and hard work. Every day we have the opportunity to earn a letter. If overall the students worked hard, followed directions, and had good behavior that day we will earn a letter. Once we spell out the word knights, students earn either extra recess or a popcorn party.
SNACK
Each month I will send home a snack calendar. Your child's name will appear 1-2 times a month based on the number of students we have. On that day, your child should bring in snack for the class. Your child will be able to bring in a birthday treat on their birthday (note-it MUST be store bought).
